This piece is the 1926 manuscript diary of Elizabeth Donnell Tilghman (1859-1943), widow of Dr. Charles Henry Tilghman. This diary was written to document her trip to France with her daughter Agnes Riddle Owen Tilghman, which began on January 2, 1926 and ended on April 24, 1926.

Entries include sailing conditions crossing the Atlantic, weather conditions and accounts of various cities, palaces, hotels and other places of interested visited while in Europe.
