Beautiful association copy signed and inscribed by Editor LeRoi Jones (Amari Baraka) to influential anti-war activist and member of the Boston Five, Mitchell Goodman and his wife, Denise Levertov.

This anthology contains prose and verse from such notable Beats as LeRoi Jones, Diane di Prima, Jack Kerouac, William S. Burroughs and many others.

Jones has inscribed this copy to Goodman and Levertov on the half-title page in bold blue ink:

“For Denise and Mitchell, Some of these are probably good - All the best, LeRoi Nov ‘63”

Goodman was a founder of the anti-war activist group ‘Resist’, and a member of the Boston Five, convicted for aiding and abetting Vietnam
War draft resisters and sentenced to two years in prison, a conviction which was later overturned. Goodman also helped organize the first national
protest of the war at the Pentagon in 1967.

Blue cloth. Square tight binding and clean interior. Mild edge wear. Jacket with light wear presents handsomely in archival Mylar.
