The Life of General Daniel Morgan, of the Virginia Line of the Army of the United States....

New York: Derby & Jackson, 1859. Early Printing. 8vo. Very Good. Item #13216

A beautiful 3rd Printing of Graham's classic biography of Morgan, one of the preeminent American field commanders of the Revolutionary War.

Morgan was instrumental in the battles at Quebec, Saratoga and Cowpens, where his victory directly set in motion events which would ultimately lead to the surrender of Cornwallis at Yorktown later in 1781.

Square tight binding. Clean interior, save for historic 1860 signature in pencil to front end paper.

Brown cloth with elaborate motif stamped in blind with gilt titling to spine. Gilt on spine somewhat faded, particularly at the upper end. Mild rubbing and edge wear, more so at the corners and spine ends.

A much superior edition of this scarce title than most.
