A beautiful and quite scarce 1962 Sports Illustrated Magazine with a long and detailed feature on Johns Hopkins Lacrosse, along with a history of the game in America.
The issue features and action photo of Hopkins All-American attackman Jerry Schmidt on the cover and compelling inside photographs of the season's Hopkins vs Princeton match-up, a game Hopkins won 15-9.
Schmidt went on to win three National Championships as Head Coach at Hobart College. His 15-0 National Championship season won him 1977 College Coach of the Year. He was inducted into the Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 1989.
Mild rubbing and edge wear with a scar along the bottom left from the removal of a mail label.
