Dark Carnival

Sauk City: Arkham House, 1947. 8vo. Very Good / Very Good. Item #15170

Beautiful first printing of Bradbury's first book, a collection of 27 tales, many previously published in publications such as Weird Tales.

The young author was already somewhat known at the time of publication and the dust jacket bio likens Bradbury to the likes of H. P. Lovecraft and August Derlith.

Black cloth over boards with the dust jacket illustration by George Barrows. Binding with little wear, in Near Fine condition. Square tight binding. Clean interior, save for small previous bookseller price in black ink to top of front end paper.

Dust jacket with mild rubbing and edge wear with a sporadic foxing along the edges. Original $3.00 price intact on upper inner flap. Presents handsomely in archival mylar.

Overall, a superior 1st Edition of one of Bradbury's more desirable titles.
