A scarce and quite beautiful pictorial map of Portland, Maine and surrounding region, including the dozens of Ocean Islands along with ferry routes.
Routes of the Maine Central are highlighted in bold red. This map covers the region from South Portland in the south to Brunswick and Lewiston in the north. Looking west one can see the Whites, with Mt. Washington and Crawford Notch labeled. Also depicted are the many towns along the southern Maine coast, such as Yarmouth, Falmouth, Cumberland and Freeport.
Casco Castle sits majestically overlooking the dozens of islands beyond the Harraseeket River. Other landmarks prominently featured include Martin Point Bridge, Riverton, Fort Leavitt, several lighthouses, Union Station and many more.
Original fold lines, with some small closed separations at fold intersections, repaired with acid-free conservation tape on verso. Original typographical wraps included, though not attached to the map.
This historic map measures 28" X 20" and is perfect for fframing and display!
