An uncommon French map of the Mississippi River delta and the coastline to Mobile Bay, including the fledgling towns of New Orleans, LA and Biloxi, MS. Lake Pontchartrain is depicted as are other regional natural landmarks.
This map is decorated with a beautiful and large compass rose, rhumb lines with fleur-de-lys, and decorative title cartouche.
Original vertical fold line with later horizontal fold line. Wide margins with a crease to lower margin.
The image measures 14 1/2" X 9" while the sheet measures 17 3/8" X 12 1/2".
Overall a very desirable piece of Louisiana history from French occupation, perfect for framing and display!
