A desirable association copy of the second novel from the National Book Award Winner, signed and inscribed by the author to two of the book's dedicatees, Charley and Catherine McDowell.
Publisher's green cloth. Tight binding. Clean interior. Watkin's inscription was written on the dedication page and references the couple to whom he is signing the book by underlining their names and drawing an arrow to them from his inscription. It reads - "A lot of gratitude goes to you two birds with this one stone. Larry Watkin, June 24, 1940".
Cloth soiled with the spine lightly slanted. Pages lightly tanned with sporadic foxing. rare Dust jacket with moderate wear, including a large chip at top of spine, and age toning. Presents handsomely in archival mylar.
