A gorgeously illustrated large folio early 20th-century educational piece detailing the male and female anatomy, in scarce original slipcase.
Four card-stock 'pages' with two double-sided moving volvelles illustrating body parts and anatomy, physiology, diet and some medical history, with illustrations of historic figures in the medical field such as Hippocrates, Leonardo DaVinci, Socrates, William Harvey, Charles Darwin and more.
As the volvelles turn, different medical information is displayed through window portals from both the front and back of each page, with one side dedicated to female anatomy and the other side, male. surrounding the portals are many sections of detailed text.
Mild wear to folio, including some rubbing along the edges and corners. Slipcase with moderate rubbing and wear, including light dampstaining and a four-inch separation at the upper fore edge joint.
Overall a lovely piece which would make a wonderful gift for the medical professional or student in your household!
