A scarce original 1863 lithograph depicting Fort Pennsylvania, Washington, DC

Fort Pennsylvania, then not in the city of Washington, DC was located in what is now the Tenleytown historic neighborhood in Northwest DC.

This print was one of many produced by the Rosenthals in Philadelphia, Louis who handled most of the business and Max who created most of the art. It depicts the encampment of the 113th with soldiers of the unit milling about.

The color lithograph measures 10.5" X 6" while the piece framed measures 16.5" X 12.5". The frame is in a simple, elegant craftsman style.
