Laid in is an original19th-century button, dated September 17, 1896, likely from a Civil War Veteran Reunion held at the battlefield that day, 34 years after the battle. The button is protected in a former merchant's cardboard and plastic wrap. .
Red cloth with titling stamped in gilt to front board. 66pp + 128pp, + ads. Square tight binding. Clean interior. Moderate rubbing and edge wear to binding with gilt somewhat faded.
