A BEAUTIFUL 1962 guide to living in Dorchester County, Maryland, then much different than it is today, then primarily a rural farming community outside of its historic seat, Cambridge.
This work features 24 full-page tinted black and white historic photographs depicting life on Maryland's Eastern Shore in the mid 20th-century. Each photo is accompanied by detailed text regarding the scene in the photo. Topics include the 'Aerial View of Cambridge', 'Sailing on the Choptank River', the 'Muscrat Marsh', and many others.
Stiff carboard wraps with an illustrated pictorial map of Dorchester County on the front wrap. White plastic comb binding. Little wear, with just a touch of light spotting on outer pages and a short closed tear at the edge of the view of Cambridge to the text block edges. The verso of the rear wrap features an illustrated map of Maryland, depicting its geological formations.
Overall a handsome, unique and interesting volume.
