An outstanding 1st Edition copy of Gilbert Byron's classic children's tale of a boy and his Chesapeake Bay Retriever on the turn-of-the-century Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Signed by Byron on the front endpaper.
Tan cloth. Square tight binding. Clean interior, save for a handwritten note under Byron's signature that the signature is indeed Byron's, as well as a gift inscription to upper half-title page. Small paper clip mark to bottom edge of front end paper. Mild rubbing and edge wear to binding. Dust jacket with mild edge wear. Presents handsomely in archival mylar.
