A beautiful edition of Alice illustrated by Arthur Rackham, one of the most acclaimed and collectible illustrators of the 20th century.
Red cloth boards with Rackham pictorial plate to front: "The Mock Turtle drew a long breath and said, 'That's very curious'".
Twelve full color Rackham plates, including frontis portrait of Alice, as well as numerous in-text black and white illustrations. 162pp. Square tight binding. Clean interior, save for faint pencil ghost and a tiny ink spot to front end paper. Mild rubbing and edge wear to binding, with some of the white ruling and titling rubbed away. White title stamping to spine rubbed nearly away, leaving it to appear as stamped in blind.
Overall a scarce, handsome and desirable Rackham and Alice collectible.
