An 1865 Civil War newspaper with tremendous Abraham Lincoln history This issue features a large front-page engraving of Abraham Lincokn taking the oath of office to begi n his 2nd Term as US President.

Inside pages feature a large, double-page centerfold engraving of Lincoln on the steps of the US Capitol presenting his inaugural addess, accompanied by a detailed headline report covering the day's festivities, including a summation of Lincoln's famous "With Malice Toward None" address, though the phrase does not appear in the report.

Also included are many reports from around the embattled country as Civil War rages on, though the days of the Confederacy by this time were quite numbered. The following month Lee would Surrender to Grant and Lincoln would be assassinated at Ford's Theatre.

This March 18, 1865 issue of Harper's Weekly Illustrated newspaper is complete in 16 pages and is in Very Good condition, with mild edge wear.

This historic piece measures 16" X 11", while the centerfold engraving measures 22" X 16" and is perfect for framing and display.
