Daniel Morgan: Ranger of the Revolution

New York: Holt, Rinehart & Winston, 1961. 1st Edition. 8vo. Fine / Near Fine. Item #17545

A drop-dead gorgeous 1st Edition biography of this indispensable Patriot General and victor at the Battle of Cowpens during the American Revolution.

Uneducated and coming from nothing, Morgan was arguably the finest field commander in the Continental Army, distinguishing himself and his troops at the Battles of Saratoga, Quebec, Cowpens and others. It was his victory at Cowpens which set the wheels in motion for ultimate American victory at Yorktown in 1781.

Tan cloth with red and gilt titling to spine. 342pp. Square tight binding. Clean interior. Binding in Fine condition.

Dust jacket Near Fine with a nice, bright spine, lacking the usual fading to the upper portion in red. Mild edge wear, including a short closed tear to upper edge of front panel. Presents handsomely in archival mylar.

An uncommonly nice copy of this Revolutionary War biography.
