Seventeen black and white engraved map plates, many folding, along with in-text engravings.

Original calf, with gilt ruling to spine and burgundy title label. 47-642pp. Square tight binding. Clean interior, save for contemporary manuscript nautical poem adhered to the front pastedown, a very nice piece of pre-Civil War nautical history; and a 1908 gift inscription to the rear pastedown. Sporadic foxing throughout. Leather rubbed and a touch worn with moderate edge wear.

Overall a handsome and very nice example of Blunt's defining work.
