1940 WW II Pictorial Map of the Ideal U.S. Naval Base, Published JUST BEFORE the Japanese Attack on Pearl Harbor

New York: Fortune, 1941. Very Good. Item #18225

A vibrant 1941 pictorial map of a hypothetical ideal U.S. Naval Base, published in 1941 just before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

The Map depicts docks for housing and repairing ships, a large naval fleet just off the coast and a large channel for entry and exit. Also depicted are several air hangers and runways for an air fleet. Off to the right is a detailed text descriptions of the various features of the base, built to house some 50,000 men, 250 vessels, and ten checker-topped hangers to house the air squadron.

This historic piece measures approximately 22" X 14" and is perfect for framing and display!
