A vibrant 1941 pictorial map of a hypothetical ideal U.S. Naval Base, published in 1941 just before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.
The Map depicts docks for housing and repairing ships, a large naval fleet just off the coast and a large channel for entry and exit. Also depicted are several air hangers and runways for an air fleet. Off to the right is a detailed text descriptions of the various features of the base, built to house some 50,000 men, 250 vessels, and ten checker-topped hangers to house the air squadron.
This historic piece measures approximately 22" X 14" and is perfect for framing and display!
