The Sun Also Rises

New York: The Modern Library, c.1948. ML170. Duodecimo. Very Good / Very Good. Item #18469

Widely regarded as Hemingway's finest masterpiece, this c.1948 edition is coupled with this iconic Modern Library dust jacket, one of the most striking in the entire ML catalog.

This edition features a dust jacket price of $1.25 so it is a post-WW II edition, despite the 1926 copyright date.

Red cloth with gilt titling blocked in black. 259pp + ads. 334 titles on jacket verso. Square tight binding. Clean interior, save for small previous owner initials to top corner of half-title page. Dust jacket with mild edge wear and a sunned spine. Binding with mild edge wear, mainly at spine ends, where there is a touch of fading also. Presents handsomely in archival mylar.

A solid copy of a very desirable ML edition, increasingly hard to find.
