This is an rare report from the Massachusetts Surgeon General to John Andrew, Governor of Massachusetts, regarding the return and medical conditions of prisoners held in Confederate POW camps, as well as returning Union Soldiers from Massachusetts.

It includes text descriptions of general troop conditions as well as detailed muster rolls of troops as well as those Union soldiers who died in Confederate Prisons.

Blue typographical wraps. 135pp. Square tight binding. Clean interior. Small embossed blind stamp to title page and front wrap. Wraps with moderate edge wear, soiling, rubbing and wear. Presents handsomely in a clear, archival mylar dust jacket.
