Natural Golf

New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1931. 1st Edition. Quarto. Item #18546

A beautiful 1931 1st edition complete with original slipcase.

Dunn came from a long line of well known Scottish golfers, began a club-making business with his brother in 1892 and was a well-regarded golf course designer. He traveled to America in 1895 and 1897 and eventually opened his own shop in New York City. He soon began designing courses in the U.S. and became famous for the many he designed in Florida and California, including the Rio Hondo Country Club, Los Serranos, Santa Ana Country Club, Lake Elsinore Golf Club for the Southern California Athletic Club, Lake Norconian Golf Club and many more.

Green cloth with titling stamped in gilt to front and spine. Square tight binding. Clean interior. Black and white photography as well as in text drawings. Mild edge wear with a lightly sunned spine.

Slip case with an illustrated title pastedown. Lightly soiled with moderate edge wear.

Overall an extremely handsome example of this Great-Depression era golf tutorial.
