Eat Drink and be Merry in Maryland
New York: G.P. Putnam's Sons, 1932. Edwin Tunis. 8vo. Very Good / Good. Item #18590
A nice Early Edition in the uncommon dust jacket, with Illustrations by renowned illustrator Edwin Tunis, including Maryland-Map illustrated end papers.
Filled with countless traditional Maryland recipes, mingled among which are Tunis illustrations, captions on various aspects of Maryland history, and racially inappropriate cartoons of the day by Tunis, which would not get published today.
This is an ex-library edition but fairly clean as such. Stamp to top of front end paper and top of rear flyleaf. Adhesive remnant where card holder once was on same rear flyleaf. Sticker to lower spine of dust jacket and clear tape around spine.
Black cloth with elaborate gilt, red and white illustration and titling to front and spine. Mild edge wear.
Dust jacket with rubbing and edge wear, including chips along edges, with rubbing and scuffing. Presents handsomely in archival mylar.
Overall a handsome copy of a very desirable edition.
