Jesse Crumb, son of underground comix pioneer Robert Crumb, produced a set of trading cards in 1995 called Beat Characters: An Informal History of Poets, Painters, Writers, Musicians, Comics & Social Commentators.
This poster of uncut cards is signed under the images by Crumb and his wife Erica Detlefsen, who provided biographies of the subjects on the back of each card when produced. This historic piece is number 143 of just 150 printed.
Characters include the likes of Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, William S. Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Herbert Huncke, Lenny Bruce, Dizzy Gillespie, and many more!
