An extremely scarce 1837 1st Edition biography of this important Puritan minister from Deerfield, Massachusetts, who was taken captive by Mohawk Indians in 1704 by American Indians during the Deerfield Massacre in the midst of Queen Anne's War.
Williams "was held by the French in Montreal for more than two years, who wanted a high-ranking French pirate in exchange. After being released in late 1706, Williams became even more notable for The Redeemed Captive (1707), his account of his captivity.
