"Azuni was a Sardinian jurist. In 1795 appeared his systematic work on the maritime law of Europe, Sistema Universale dei Principii del Diritto Maritimo deli Europa, which he afterwards recast and translated into French.
In 1806 he was appointed one of the French commission engaged in drawing up a general code of commercial law, and in the following year he proceeded to Genoa as president of the court of appeal. Azuni also wrote numerous pamphlets and works, chiefly on maritime law." - wiki
Two volumes complete. Volume I in its original binding and Volume II rebound in tan modern leather. Square tight bindings. Clean interiors, save for the bookbinders book plate to the front pastedown of each volume. Red leather spine labels with titling in gilt.
Volume I with mild rubbing, a few scuffs and edge wear. Top edge of the front pages with a mild linear dampstain. 424pp. Volume II with previous owner signatures to top of title page and frontis page. Errata slip at rear of volume with minor edge paper repair. 430pp.
