Laid in are two advertising flyers for the book, one advertising the Byrd Prize Letter Contest, and the other a tri-fold titled "Conquerors of the North Pole, with an illustrated cutaway look at the inside of the Fokker airplane Byrd used for his flight.
Publisher's blue cloth, with titling in gilt. 422pp. Square tight binding. Clean interior, save for a rectangular scuff to front endpaper where it appears a former book plate resided. . Mild edge wear, with some spotting to binding. Dust jacket with minor edge wear and a lightly sunned spine. Presents handsomely in archival mylar.
