An extremely rare 1st Edition of this 19th-century work of poetry from the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Dennis (1841-1923) was from Worcester County, Maryland's easternmost county, bordering the Atlantic Ocean. Dennis was known for her reflective poetry that often explored themes of faith, nature, family, memory, loss, and hope, and this is her most notable work.
Brown cloth with titling in gilt and illustration in dark brown. 337pp. Binding square but a few protruding signatures, though all firmly attached. Mild rubbing and edge wear. A few small stains to binding. Clean interior, save for contemporary 1888 signature to front flyleaf.
