Gorgeous 1634 3rd printing of this classic history of the Catholic and English church. Contemporary calf neatly rebacked with raised bands and elaborate gilt tooling to spine. Boards with detailed ornamental tooling in blind with exquisite dentelles at each corner. Marbled end papers, of an older date, probable to the 18th or 19th century. Square Tight Binding. Clean interior. Binding with rubbing and edge wear, particularly at corners. A handsome addition to any serious Theology collection.
