Uncle Tom's Cabin
1958. Very Good. Item #900066
Original 1958 theatre lobby card for the re-release of the 1927 feature film 'Uncle Tom's Cabin', based on the 1852 novel by Harriett Beecher Stowe, the abolitionist work which was a major catalyst in driving the nation toward civil war in 1861.
As the Civil Rights movement continued to grow throughout the 1950, Jules B. Weill and Carroll L. Puciato reissued the 1927 screen version of Stowe's literary masterpiece.
Uncle Tom's Cabin was the best-selling novel of the 19th century, and the second best-selling book of that century, following the Bible. It is arguably the most important American novel ever written.
